The fourth place in the number system, after ones, tens and hundreds is thousands.
The face value of a digit is the same as the digit itself, regardless of its position in the
number.
The place value of a digit depends on the place of the digit in the number.
Expanded form of a number is the sum of the place values of its digits.
When some given numbers are arranged from the smallest to the greatest, they are
said to be in ascending order.
When some given numbers are arranged from the greatest to the smallest, they are
said to be in descending order.
Predecessor means a number that is 1 less than the given number.
Successor means a number that is 1 more than the given number.
A number is rounded down to the nearest ten if its ones digit is 4 or less.
A number is rounded up to the nearest ten if its ones digit is 5 or more.
